The Author.... Jimmie Chinn

He was born in Oldham in 1940 and educated down the road in Middleton. His love of and fascination with theatre began when he was taken to the Oldham Coliseum to see a play called Busman's Holiday On leaving school he worked at the Co-op and joined his local Amateur Dramatic Society eventually gaining a scholorship to RADA. He moved to London but his acting career was short and undistinguished so he trained as a teacher and took up a post in Middlesex. He took up full time writing in 1984 producing several successful radio plays. He has written many stage plays since including Straight and Narrow, produced by Burnley Garrick Club a couple of seasons ago, and he has worked on scripts for Coronation Street and Emmerdale.
