Sue Townsend wrote this play because she was angry about
the high levels of illiteracy in this country (1983). She felt that it
was due to the fact that failure was built into our education sys-
tem. The play should inspire people to demand an education
no matter what age.

Carol Anne has again brought some new faces to the Garrick
stage and we welcome Paul and Kirsten in their first production
for us.
