Director's Notes

Walter Greenwood is the Lancashire comedy writer who is best known for his play Cure for Love, presented by Burnley Garrick club last season. Saturday Night at the Crown is perhaps less well known, but nevertheless, is just as funny. The gossip that takes place in the snug is as relevant today as it was 40+ years ago.
It is rumoured that this play was the forerunner for Coronation Street. Can you spot any of the early days characters?
Enjoy your Saturday Night at the Crown.
