Hobson's ChoiceProgramme

by Harold Brighouse

Directed by Alan Bailey

The play is set in Salford, Lancashire, 1880

ACT ONE - Interior of Hobson's Shop in Chapel Street, midday
ACT TWO - The same scene, a month later, midday
ACT THREE - Will Mossop's Shop, evening
ACT FOUR - Living room of Hobson's Shop, Eight o'clock in the morning, a year later

There are two surprises about Hobson's Choice. The first is that its debut was made in America. The second is that, even after sixty-four years of plays, the Garrick Club has never before staged it.
