Two plays from the Noel Coward trilogyProgramme

A Suite in Three Keys

Song At Twilight

Directed by James E. Wadsworth

Come Into the Garden Maud

Directed by Clifford Spencer

The action takes place in the present day, in an hotel, somewhere in Switzerland.

These two plays were originally written by Coward as longer, two or three act pieces, to be performed over the course of three consecutive evenings. Later it was decided that the two plays on show tonight should be abridged to provide one evening’s entertainment.

Noel Coward (1899-1973) was a playwright, actor, composer and producer. Well known for such stage dramas as Private Lives and Blithe Spirit, he also wrote and produced films such as In Which We Serve and This Happy Breed. He was knighted in 1970.
